Economic Development

Economic Development is a staple component to a Nations success rate. Here in Economic Development, we have current and future projects to serve our people, we are dedicated to creating economic growth. These projects will also create employment and give the participants lifelong lessons they can take to further their success.

The laundromat is a Saddle Lake owned business, since it opened it has made a positive impact on our people it offers on reserve laundry services for individuals without transportation and created employment for five families.

The Woodlot is an employment program through Economic Development it focuses on helping individuals create healthy work habits and leaves a positive footprint on those who participate. Its workload focuses on hauling and loading wood, wood delivery, and knowledge around ceremony when needed.

More recently Saddle Lake had purchased the St. Brides trading post. Since the announcement of this new business, we have had almost twenty individuals apply for the two cashier positions we are offering. This new business is going to bring growth to economic change.
