The Program

The primary objective of Saddle Lake Sewing Center is to illustrate the integrity of Native designs and bring to the marketplace quality products to be sold. The revenue generated provides a myriad of
opportunities for members of our Nation.


These opportunities include:

 

• Self-worth, personal growth & skill development
• Pride in accomplishments of making highly visible products.
• The contribution made to the Nations business sector.
• Employment for members of the Nation

Program Activities

• Self care (massages, sharing circles, woman retreats, and conferences)
• Take orders.
• Sew, mend, alter.
• Design our own blankets, skirts, shirts, assorted bags ( drum bags, mossbags ).

Success Stories

Received orders throughout Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC. Finished an order of 85- star blankets that went to Waterhen SK, Little Pine SK. Past3 years been taking large orders of blankets within our rural area also for ceremonies, graduation. Yearly orders from the
Health Center ( baby star blankets, beast feeding cushions ).

Planned Activities

In the pass have attended conferences to sell are products


• Fund raise to go on yearly retreats.
• Travel going to, different towns & cities for materials, ribbons, batting. Because some places are cheaper.

In Lloydminter the lady from Fabricland was impressed with our work on the blanket because of how we make them also colors, designs.

• We make arm bands.
• Buy shirts put ribbon on them and designs.
